Karen is on the move!
Welcome to my travelblog!
My name is Karen Evers, known as Kary. For the ones that don't know me. I'm originally from Curacao and came to Holland for my studies. Since last year I developed this intrest for travelling, since then I started my journey towards exploring the world.
From now on my trips are going to be a little bit different than before. I'm more driven by cultures, people, I want to feel and experience the everyday life, the real thing. So don't forget to check out my blogs and feel free to leave comments or ask questions......
Karen
From Amsterdam to Milan Malpensa, from Milan Malpensa to Miami International Airport.
As soon as I arrived there with Stacey and Duane we immediately went to Dollars Rent a Car, where we took a shuttle to their main office and rented a minivan. It was nice and comfortable so I can't complain. Soon after we got our minivan we went directly to the Hotel, left our luggage and hit the road.
We went to Aventura Mall to have dinner by Cajun and Grill. Yummy...you can get Cajun and Grill in allmost all the malls in Miami.
Then we drove around in Hialeah listening to power 96 all day. It was insane really because they were playing the same song over and over again. We belong together from Mariah Carey, Hate it or love it from the game.
It was fun being in the States and speaking spanish instead of english. It is more Cuban than American. I love it....gives the US some culture....
After doing our own sight seeing and shopping the first we decided to go to the Everglades to see the crocodiles. We saw one of the oldest crocodiles and we held snappy. Check out the pictures.
Of course we had to stop by Dunkin Donuts to get some nicely sugar glazed donuts. And to starbucks for a nice Frappucino. IHOP, Denny's, Cheescake factory and more of those famous junk. Yeah what can I say, if you have been to the states and didn't go to those restaurants you might as well stay where you are. At least that my way of thinking now. I might think different when I'm a millionaire...haha.
On our way to Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise Boulevard....This is the main reason we came to Miami, besides shopping. We wanted to go to the air and sea show. Well peeps, it was awesome. It is one of the world’s largest spectator events! We had the opportunity to participate in an event that recognizes all of America’s Heroes who are willing to put their lives on the line everyday to defend ''our'' freedom and who give themselves to save others. They showed spectacular demonstrations and activities. My favourite was the passenger airplane flying on a low altitude and the blue angels of course. After the airshow we went to Sawgrass mills, this is huge mall, we didnt even see a quart of it so we had to go the next day again. Dolphin Mall is also worth wisiting.
Somewhere close to Boca Raton there was this racing event. We went there, well I did it mostly for the guys because I'm not really into racing myself.
Last but not least....MIAMI BEACH. This is the real thing....al lot of pimped cars and other stuff on wheels. It was kinda fun....fat women in supersexy skirts and shirts. It looked like a black video clip, haha. But it is nice to be there, cause it's crowded and alive. And you can swim....the beaches in Curacao are way better, but still, you can swim in the ocean.
Down Town Miami wasn't really entertaining to me at one point we got lost in the middle of a ghetto, I feel a thousand times safer downtown Cancun Mexico.
From Miami International Airport to Cincinnati. From Cincinnati, -where the pilot did something with the airplane that scared the shit out of me- to Amsterdam
